How much sugar?

Did you know that the amount of sugar we consume daily can significantly impact our health?

Recommended daily sugar intake:

The NHS advises that adults should aim for no more than 30g of free sugars a day. That's roughly equivalent to 7 sugar cubes!

For children aged 7 to 10, the limit is even lower, at 24g which is the equivalent of 6 sugar cubes!

For children aged 4-6 the limit is even lower still, at 19g, thats just 5 sugar cubes!

Why does it matter?

Consuming too much sugar can lead to a whole host of health issues, including tooth decay, weight gain, and even an increased risk of developing conditions like type 2 diabetes and heart disease.

How to cut down?

Swap out sugary snacks and drinks for healthier alternatives like fresh fruit, nuts, or low-sugar options. Reading food labels can also help you make more informed choices about what you are putting into your body.
