As we reach the end of another busy year at Crossbank Dental Care, I have been taking a moment to reflect on just how much has happened in 2025. It has been a year filled with progress and plenty of smiles; and I am delighted with everything our team and community have achieved together.
Celebrating a standout year
One of the highlights was being named Best Dental Practice in Cumbria. This recognition meant a great deal to all of us here, not just because of the award itself, but because it reflects the trust our patients place in us every day. Thank you to everyone who continues to choose Crossbank and recommend us to friends and family; it is an honour we never take for granted.
Our practice has also grown in ways that directly benefit the care we provide. We welcomed new members to the team and celebrated several colleagues completing additional qualifications. Together, they have helped us expand the range of services available to patients and strengthen the support we offer inside and outside the dental surgery.
And of course, many of you will have seen the new entrance, which has transformed first impressions and made the arrival experience warmer, more accessible and more welcoming as well as boosting flora & fauna! It has been lovely hearing the positive feedback from patients.
A year of environmental and social impact
Sustainability has continued to be a core focus for us, and 2025 marked another step forward. I am always amazed at how in our practice meetings someone always thinks of another "tweak" we can make to improve and embed more environmentally responsible ways of working.
December also marks an important milestone as we prepare our B Corp entry something we have been steadily working towards behind the scenes. Becoming a B Corp is not just about accreditation; it is about committing to doing business in a way that benefits people, patients and the planet. It fills me with joy that this matters to every member of our team.
We have continued to support causes close to our hearts, including Cumbria Wildlife Trust, Bridge2Aid and our sponsorship of Outside In, helping to champion creativity and wellbeing in our local community. These partnerships remind us that businesses can – and should – be a force for good.
Celebrating together
December wouldn’t be December without a bit of fun, so once again the team is taking part in Save the Children’s Christmas Jumper Day. It has become a joyful annual tradition here and a great way for us to raise money for a brilliant cause.
I will be spending a week in Manchester for the start of my Directors Development Programme at the University of Salford and I am hoping to squeeze in a quick wander around the Christmas Markets in between studying, for some very last-minute present shopping. If you spot someone comparing scented candles with far too much enthusiasm, it might well be me! Most of my time, though, is firmly rooted here at Crossbank and enjoying the build-up to Christmas at home; including carol concerts for our older children and the nativity for our youngest!
Looking ahead to 2026
While we are proud of what 2025 has brought, we are even more excited about what lies ahead. Next year we will continue our work with Cumbria Wildlife Trust and Bridge2Aid, deepen our sustainability efforts and keep investing in our brilliant team so we can offer patients the very best in care and experience.
Most importantly, we will continue building on the trust you place in us. Thank you for being part of our story. Your support allows us to do what we love every single day.
From all of us at Crossbank Dental Care, wishing you a joyful, peaceful Christmas and a bright start to the new year.
