What do you enjoy most about your job?
I find great joy in spreading positivity throughout our practice. The variety in my role keeps me engaged, and I particularly enjoy strategic planning and implementing steps to achieve multi-faceted goals - see more below!
What aspects of your role do you find the most fulfilling?
One of the most rewarding parts of my role is helping our team members fulfil their potential and develop unique positions for them tailored to their strengths. It's incredibly satisfying to see folks grow and thrive. I also find great satisfaction in seeing how our work positively impacts our patients' lives and overall health.
Can you describe a typical day at work for you?
While each day varies, I generally structure my time to focus "on" the business in the mornings. This includes strategic planning and business development through marketing and networking. In the afternoons, I shift to working "in" the business, catching up with team members and addressing day-to-day operations. This structure allows me to balance big-picture thinking with hands-on leadership, ensuring I stay connected to all aspects of our practice.
What future visions do you have for Crossbank Dental Care?
My vision for Crossbank Dental Care is multi-faceted:
For our team: To create an environment where everyone feels nurtured and fulfilled in their roles.
For our patients: To consistently deliver exceptional customer care and maintain high clinical standards through a highly skilled team.
For our practice: To further develop our reputation as a multi-disciplinary referral practice.
For our impact: To achieve B Corp certification, demonstrating our commitment to environmental and social responsibility. Ultimately, my vision is for Crossbank Dental Care to be recognised as a leader in innovative, patient-centred care that also prioritises staff wellbeing and environmental responsibility.
In all aspects of my role, from daily operations to long-term planning, my goal is to create an environment where our team can excel, our patients can receive the best possible care, and our practice can continue to grow and innovate in the field of dentistry. For me, Neil & I are not "just" running a dental practice – we're building a community of care that extends beyond our walls.
If you had to swap jobs for one day in the practice, which job would you swap and why?
I would choose to be a Treatment Coordinator for a day. I love meeting new people, learning about their needs and expectations, and introducing them to the "wow" factor of Crossbank Dental Care. It's an opportunity to make a great first impression and set the tone for a patient's entire experience with us. This role is crucial in setting patient expectations and ensuring they feel valued from the very beginning of their journey with us.
