Getting to know our dental team - An interview with Patient Administration Coordinator Laura...

How long have you worked at Crossbank Dental Care?

Since 2018.

How has your career developed during your time at Crossbank Dental care?

Started as admin covering accounts, dictation, referrals and general administration etc. My role then changed more to general admin and helping Neil Cooper with updates and dictation. This has now changed at the end of 2023 to the new title of Patient Coordination Administrator.

What aspects of your role do you find most fulfilling?

The team atmosphere and help that is given, gaining new skills and developing new tasks added to the job description which has changed, seeing patients happy with their dental work and the confidence this brings. I also love learning more about implants and treatments when writing GDP updates and treatment plans.

Can you describe a typical day at work for you?

I work through admin daily tasks, complete any GDP updates and dictation, accounts when in telephony and any other jobs that are given from Neil Cooper, other Dentists and Management. I will prioritise which tasks are more urgent and work my way through our trays and waiting lists.

If you had to swap jobs for one day in the practice, which job would you swap and why?

A Treatment Coordinator as I would then have more clinical knowledge and would enjoy following the patients journey from the beginning, both in and out of surgery, and see the end result.
